With the NFL owners meeting this week, there is more news swirling regarding game days and locations, whether adding nights or expanding Thursday night football. We have our opinions, but really want yours.
Just in from Renton, here is the first glimpse to fans of what tickets will cost this year and notification of renewal kicking off next week. A few of us were wondering when this was coming out, as in past years we were already laying down cash for the tickets on 3/15/13.
While details are generally sparse, from memory this is a largest increase in many years. What is very interesting, and very curious to see how it works out, is the introduction of variable pricing based on "Value and Demand." I don't think demand is even in question, there is not going to be an open ticket in the house within second after single game seats go on sale.
However the value aspect is one that may drive some controversy. One question that comes to mind with this model, what impact will unknown ticket pricing have on renewals? I suspect little (and frankly I won't , but it does seem a bit awkward as a renewal plan to sign up without knowing the final costs until April.
