There is no doubt we have a great time tailgating on Seahawks game days, but true to our mission of engaging the community (the Spirit of 12) we were blessed to participate in the Vision House (www.vision-house.org @nohomelesskids) Rumble Tumble Football Jumble. With the support of an amazing group of volunteers from Hawk Strong, Bethany Community Church North and the SnoCo Seahawkers, it was an incredible day cooking/serving lunch, running football drills, carnival games (including a 'refreshing' dunk tank) and sports activities for nearly 175 kids and families.
If you're not familiar with Vision House, we encourage you to take a few minutes to see the incredible work they do serving families in the Renton and Shoreline areas. Everyday Vision House provides housing, counseling, child care, food, clothing, education/vocational training, life skills development and employment opportunities to single mothers and their children with the program of providing a lasting impact beyond the time spent at Vision House.
To use a phrase from our friends at Blue Line Express, it's about #TailgatingWithAPurpose. Thank you to Vision House, a remarkable group of kids, the Seattle Seahawks, Blitz, our volunteers, and our generous donors for making this event possible.
